• Boys’ Soccer Team Qualify for Finals Day

  Congratulations to the boys soccer team who have qualified for the finals day of the Killowen Cup. Well done 👏 An excellent team performance!

  

• Ulster Camogie Champions

  Our camogs have done it!

   

  Today the girls were crowned Ulster Champions at the Cumann na mBunscol Uladh finals day.  They competed against teams from Antrim, Armagh, Donegal, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone, unbeaten in every match, whilst never conceding a goal.  This booked them a place in the final against the Donegal champions where they emerged victorious.  

   

  We are more than proud of the girls on this tremendous achievement for St. Columba's and indeed Co. Derry.  Congratulations to all the players and to Mrs Martin and Mr McLaughlin, their management duo.  We have no doubt this fabulous bunch of girls will be seen again playing for Derry in the future.

  

• Cash for Clobber

• Year 5 Safety Talk

  Year 5 children from St Columba's and Kilrea Primary School came together for a very informative safety talk given by Firefighter Johnson on how to stay safe at home. The children listened attentively to the safety messages and have all agreed to join the ‘Safety Team’ and help share the information and advice given. Each child was given a Safety Team resource pack to take home 🏠

   

  

• Year One Shared Education

  Miss Coyle’s Year One class had a fabulous morning visiting Kilrea Primary School. We read stories and explored fun Easter themed activities with our new friends. We had an egg hunt and even had a special visitor to deliver some lovely treats. 🌟

  Congratulations to our Year 5 pupil who became a Word Millionaire and Year 6 pupil who became a Word Multi-millionaire recently in Accelerated Reading. Keep up the good work!

  

• Green Day

  Today was ‘Green Day’ in St. Columba’s as part of our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. 

  Everyone participated in lots of fun activities in their classrooms before joining together for a ceili in the afternoon.

  

• Cumann na mBunscol All County Finals

  Congratulations to our boys’ and girls’ football teams who played today in the Cumann na mBunscol All County finals. Both teams put in great performances and qualified into the semifinals. Unfortunately both teams were beaten by the smallest of margins in the semifinals. We are very proud of you, as always.

  

• Year 4 Sacrament of Reconciliation

  Well done to our Year 4 children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation today. Our sincere thank you to Fr McDermott for putting the children at ease during today’s ceremony and for his continued spiritual guidance. Thanks also to their teacher Mrs McGuckin and assistants Mrs Dowds and Mrs Quigg for preparing the children. Please keep our Year 4 pupils in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion.

  

• Year 3 Science Experiment

  As part of their World Around Us topic, 'What's the Weather?', Year 3 were investigating which materials were the most water proof and therefore would be the best option to use to make an umbrella.
