Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Well done to all our winners from Years 4, 5 and 6 in the Accelerated Reading Prize Draw who received their awards during Assembly this morning. Two Key Stage 2 pupils also officially became 'marvellous millionaires' today as they hit their first target to read one million words! Well done everyone!
Congratulations to all the pupils who were awarded 'Pupil of the Month' for January!

Dear Parent/Guardian
As I’m sure you’ll be aware, the INTO (teacher union) is planning to take industrial action on the morning of Wednesday 18th January 2017. This is a dispute between teacher unions and the employers; it is not a dispute with the school. The NASUWT full day strike on 31st January does not affect St Columba’s P.S./N.U.
The action, (a half day strike), on Wednesday 18th January, will result in class or whole school closures across Northern Ireland.
The decision to close the school and / or send pupils home is never taken lightly, but in this instance, where staff has elected to take lawful industrial action, I will have no choice but to take appropriate steps to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all pupils.
We know that class / school closures inconvenience parents and carers and so I am writing to give you advance notice of the likely impact of the action on this school.
If the action does go ahead, the following arrangements will be in place:
The school will be closed for the morning session for all pupils on 18th January and will be open to pupils from 12:30 p.m.
Lunch will be served at 12:30.p.m.
Classes will resume at 1p.m. as usual.
School buses will run as normal in the afternoon on homebound journeys.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours sincerely
C Kielt
Principal
All forms for Nursery and Year 1 must be returned before 12 noon on Wednesday 11th January.
