Today we received a lovely letter from Neville Jones of 'ABAANA', thanking us for our large donation of £500 raised during our 'Socktober' appeal. This money will help boys and girls living in poverty in Uganda.
Article 2- Everyone in the world has rights.
Today the children in St. Columba’s celebrated ‘World Children’s Day’. This year it was particularly special, as today is the 30th Anniversary of the UNCRC.
The children completed a range of activities which focused on the importance of the voice of the child. We spent time reflecting on the articles within the UNCRC and recognise their importance in ensuring that all children have all rights! #ForEveryChild, every right.
To mark the 30th Anniversary of the UNCRC, NICCY held an interactive fun day at W5 to help children in their journey of becoming ‘Children’s Rights Defenders’. Our Rights Respecting Ambassadors attended this wonderful event.
Article 2 states: Every child in the world has rights.
⚽ Congratulations ⚽
Huge congratulations to our football team who have made it through to the Quarter Finals of the Doherty Cup. A brilliant second half effort against the breeze saw the game end 0-0 and after extra time the game went to penalties. St Columba's scored 3 out 3 in the shootout and have progressed to the next round.
🌈🌟🎈 Anti-Bullying Week 2019 🎈🌟🌈
We carried out a variety of activities throughout the week to mark Anti-Bullying Week. This year the theme was ‘Change Starts With Us’. St. Columba’s says NO 🚫 to bullying.
