This week, each pupil received a high visibility vest to wear on their journey to and from school; helping us to BE BRIGHT and BE SEEN. Johnny from Sustrans visited each class later in the week to discuss the best ways to stay safe as cyclists and pedestrians. He encouraged us to consider walking/cycling as part of our daily travel. #sustrans #bebrightbeseen
Today our Nursery - Year 3 pupils had a special visit from their Grandparent(s) as part of our celebration of Catholic Schools' Week in St. Columba’s. We hope everyone enjoyed their morning! #catholicschoolsweek #grandparentsday 👵🏻👴🏻🙏🏻
🏐 Congratulations to our girls Gaelic football team who were taking part today in the South Derry Indoor Girls Football Qualifiers. The girls successfully made it out of their group unbeaten to reach the playoffs. Another win in the playoffs qualified them for the all Derry County Finals which take place in March. 🏐
🏐 Congratulations to Tom, Luke, Ceadach and Ryan who took part in the recent Gaelic football skills test. The results of the test decides which boys represent their county and play at a variety of halftime games throughout the year. All four boys performed very well but special congratulations goes to Ceadach who came first overall (out of 127 boys). We look forward to watching him play in a Derry shirt in the near future! 🏐
Well done to our Soccer stars who came second in the Mullan Cup competition! The games took place in Score Centre in Coleraine where the team finished top of their group, winning all three matches! After breezing through the quarterfinals they met a strong Millburn Team in the semis but St.Columba’s came out on top once again! The team played Harper’s Hill in the final and unfortunately luck wasn’t on their side this time round, the boys and girls fought to the bitter end and came home with a runners up medal! 🥈
📱Our Digital Leaders had a fantastic day today at St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s P.S. Foreglen enhancing their iPad skills. They are looking forward to sharing their knowledge with all the other pupils in our school. A big thank you to Mr O’Kane and all the staff and pupils involved. 📱
