Welcome to our class page. Our teacher is Mrs Martin and our Classroom Assistant is Mrs Kirk.

We celebrated European Languages Day by learning some Spanish and German. Thank you to Mrs Kielt (Spanish) and Mrs Nicole Lavery (German) for their very enjoyable lessons.

We had a very enjoyable and educational visit to Ian McClelland’s opticians as part of our World Around Us topic. Ian showed us how he tests our eyes and his mum explained about booking appointments and choosing glasses.

As part of EU Code Week, Year 3 were introduced to early programming skills through the Scratch Jr app. They created some super projects that we will continue to develop throughout the year. This app can also be downloaded at home.

Cinema Trip

We had a very enjoyable visit to the cinema in Maghera to watch ‘Nativity Rocks

It’s a Party

The pupils from Primary 3 and 4 along with the Foundation Stage classes put on a wonderful Nativity show entitled ‘It’s a Party’. The fabulous singing, dancing and drama put us all in the Christmas spirit.

Our Library Visit

As part of our Literacy, Year 3 have been visiting the library every fortnight. They have become familiar with the layout of the library , met the Librarian Anne and are beginning to really enjoy reading books.

Shared Education visit to Kilrea Primary 

Article 14 - Every child has the right to choose their own religion and beliefs.

Article 15 - Every child has the right to choose their own friends. 

 

We had a lovely meet and greet session with our friends from Year 3 at Kilrea Primary School as we embarked on our shared education programme for the year.

Grandparents Day

Article 5 - Governments should respect the rights and responsibilities of families to direct and guide their children. 

 

We invited our Grandparents to join us in making St Brigid’s Crosses as part of Catholic Schools Week. 

~

 

Shared Education Project

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their shared education project with their friends from Kilrea Primary. They attended a 3 week session at Ballybrakes bowling stadium in Ballymoney. All the activities were organised by Donna McCloy who is keen to promote bowling with younger players.  Also thanks to Roy, Pat, John, Mark and Gary who helped out and made the visits so enjoyable.

Our School Trip

Year 3 had a super time at their school trip. First they went to the cinema to see Toy Story 4. After lunch they went to the Fun Factory.
