Goodbye Butterflies
Over the past few weeks Year 1 have been watching the lifecycle of a butterfly happen in our classroom. We received 5 caterpillars in the post. They grew bigger and bigger and then formed cocoons. They stayed in their cocoons for a week and then they emerged as beautiful painted lady butterflies! We set our butterflies free today, although some of them didn't want to leave us!
Walking Rainbow Experiment
As part of our Spring theme, Year 1 have been learning about rainbows. Today we became scientists, as we carried out an experiment to make our very own rainbow. We put two different colours of food colouring into cups and watched as the colours mixed on the kitchen roll!
