  • Texaco Art Competition Award

    Massive congratulations to Niamh in Year 7 who has won a special Merit Award in the 68th Texaco Children’s Art Competition with an entry entitled ‘The Skies the Limit.’ Niamh received a winner certificate and a selection of Art ‘n’ Hobby art materials. Thank you to her teacher Miss McKiernan and Mrs McGuckin, Art Co-ordinator. 
    Niamh’s artwork will be exhibited alongside all of this year’s winners at the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts in Belfast from 31st May to 30th June (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only, 9am - 5pm). If you’re in Belfast, pop in to see it at 1 Rosemary Street, Belfast BT1 1QA. Admission is free. 🎨🖌

  • STEM Learning Awards 2022

    We were delighted to attend  Stormont Buildings for the Northern Ireland STEM Learning Awards to accept ‘The Enthuse Partnership of the Year Award for collaboration’ with St Columba’s, Straw, St John’s, Swatragh and Millquarter PS. 
    Massive thanks to Miss Glass from #strawps for leading the collaboration and to our very own Mrs McGuckin for leading STEM learning in St. Columba’s.

  • St. Columba’s Qualify for Schools Northern Ireland Netball Final

    Congratulations to Mrs Kearney and our Netball team who won all their matches in the play- offs  today and secured themselves a place in the Schools Northern Ireland final next month. This is our first time to enter the competition  and we are therefore delighted to have come this far! A great deal of practice and hard work will be required before we embark on the final hurdle. Good luck to all the players and coach. #goodluckgirls 🌟

  • New GAA Equipment

    The pupils of St Columba’s were extremely excited today to receive new GAA equipment courtesy of Pearses GAC Kilrea. The chairperson of the BOG Mrs Una Walsh joined them for Assembly and added her gratitude to that of the Principal, staff and pupils. A massive thank you to the club for the new resources and its continued support and assistance.

  • Netball Winners

    Massive congratulations to our Netball Team who won the Coleraine and District Schools Netball Tournament today held in the University of Ulster Sport’s Hall. The girls played brilliantly throughout and were very lucky to win the final against a very good St. Brigid’s P.S. Ballymoney team. It was a wonderful competition which was very well run. A special thanks to Mrs Kearney for all her support. It was a great day! 🎉

    🔴⚪️ Today we joined primary schools across County Derry to celebrate ‘Red and White Day’ in support of the Derry Mens Senior Football Team as they prepare to take on Monaghan this weekend in the Ulster Semi-Final. #doireabu 🔴⚪️

  • Sacrament of Reconciliation

    Congratulations to our Year 4 children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation today from Fr Crowley in St. Anne’s. A massive thank you to Fr Crowley who has been so supportive of us since our beloved Fr Cargan has passed away. His lovely words about our wonderful children were both kind and generous. We are very proud of each and every one of them. As always, we thank our dedicated and hard working teachers who have put so much hard work into preparation of all the sacraments this year. 🙏🏻
