👏⛹🏻 Visit from Cancer Focus NI ⛹🏻👏
Cancer Focus NI visited St. Columba's to demonstrate ways of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Our Year 3 children took part in the 'Fit Factor' workshop to learn about the importance of exercise to keep fit and healthy. The Year 4 pupils participated in the 'Food Detectives' workshop. They looked at fresh and processed foods and the hidden salt, sugar and fat in many foods we enjoy.
💻👍Safer Internet Day👍💻
It was Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 6th February. Our Year 3 pupils took part in 'Walking Debate'. They listened to different scenarios and walked to the emoji that best suited how they would feel in these situations. The pupils participated enthusiastically and were able to justify their choice with good reasoning. Our Year 4 pupils looked at how we are connected. They created a 'Web of Connections' using wool to demonstrate this. They looked at online connections and ways we communicate with others using the internet. We all designed posters on how 'Stay Safe Online'. 💻📲🌍

🤗 Anti-bullying Week 2017 🤗
We took part in lots of creative activities to celebrate Anti-bullying week. We created anti-bullying comic strips and decorated our 'Helping Hands'- these hands remind us who we can talk to if we are worried. The theme this year was 'All different, all equal'. In St. Columba's we recognise our differences but accept that all children are equal and therefore have the right to be treated fairly. #standuptobullying #alldifferentallequal
