Anti-Bullying Week-We started off Anti-Bullying Week with a virtual assembly on the importance of showing kindness.
Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors/Pupil Champions make sure that all our pupils are feeling safe and happy in St.Columba’s PS. (Take 5-Be Active)
We learned about Martin Luther King Jnr as part of our work on Anti-Bullying this week. We learned that he fought for equal rights using non- violent means to get equality for all people.

We celebrated Grandparent’s Day with morning mass in St.Anne’s Oratory (Take 5-Connect)

Year 7 had a brilliant morning at Kilrea PS.As part of our Pushkin Project they made music with Elaine Agnew and worked together to create a Coat of Arms for our town of Kilrea.
Through our Science in a Box Project with ALMAC we were introduced to the different types of virus. We examined their shapes and organisation of their structures and made our own viruses.
Article 29 ‘Goals of Education’Chris Lindsay from ‘Take 5’ spoke to our Pupil Champions about their role as Take 5 representatives in St.Columba’s Ps.

Year 7 enjoyed a brilliant morning in Portgleone Forest with their friends from Kilrea Primary School. We were getting inspiration for our Pushkin Topic, ‘Reforestation of the Imagination’.
Lynn and Liz ,our Pushkin Trust facilitators were excellent forest guides.We learned so many new things, especially the interesting names of some plants,many have Latin names. We carried out a variety of interesting tasks.
Year 7 enjoyed learning all about ‘Cells’ in their third ‘ALMAC Science-in-a-box’lesson.
Year 7 performed their Assembly in preparation for their Confirmation on Saturday 1st April,2023.They will receive the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
