Summer Assembly

Year 2 had their Summer Assembly on Thursday. We all loved their beautiful Summer outfits! Year 2 told everyone about Summer and sang two lovely Summer songs.

The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch

We read the story of "The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch".

Then we made our own lighthouses.

We had our own ideas about how Mrs Grinling could get the lunch to the lighthouse without the seagulls eating it! Have a listen!

Fun in Redcastle!

What a lucky day we had on Friday. Mrs Kielt bought us all an ice-lolly for working hard! What a treat! They were delicious. Thank you Mrs Kielt!

Summer😎🍦☀️🌻

At last Summer is here and we have begun our new theme - Summer and Holidays!

How to build a sandcastle.

We were going to write instructions to build a sandcastle.

But first we had to build one!

Fun at People's Park on our school trip! 😎☀️🍦🚌

Here are some of the Jungle displays we have created in our classroom!

We are really enjoying all our JUNGLE play

activities.🌳🐘🐆🐊🐍🐅

What a treat! We got to make yummy Easter Nests. 👍😋

Oh here they come! Our seeds have produced little green shoots.

They will soon grow bigger and will be ready to be transferred to the polytunnel and planting beds.

Spring is here and we are starting to plant our seeds. We planted a variety of herbs that we hope the cooks in the kitchen can use when they are making the school lunches for all the children. We couldn't believe how small the seeds were! They were very hard to see and it was a bit tricky dropping them in to the hole in the compost. In a few weeks we hope to see the shoots coming through the soil. But.......we must be patient!
Congratulations to Sara on winning her first medal for Irish Dancing! Sara was dancing at a festival in Coleraine on 16th March and she did very well. Sara was excited to receive her medal and we are very proud of her!

Look at us having fun at the ceili for our St. Patrick's Day celebrations!

Here we are on our COLOUWALK around the school. We had lots of colours on our sheet that we had to look for on our walk. It was fun looking for all the colours. Orange and purple were the most difficult to find but we managed it in the end!

We are reading some 'Elmer' stories in our class because we are learning all about the JUNGLE. Then one day Mrs O'Hagan brought us in her Elmer blanket! It is a colourful patchwork blanket just like Elmer. We all loved it! Thank you Mrs O'Hagan.

Our new topic is 'Elmer and the Jungle'. Who is playing in the Jungle in the Year 2 and 3 classroom?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! We hope all our mummies liked their special gifts!

We had so much fun on WORLD BOOK DAY! We had our breakfast as we read our books in our pyjamas. Back in the classroom we designed our own book covers.

Take a look at some of our displays about TOYS!

Have a look at out Pastel Bears!✍🏻🐻

We tried out some OLD games at P.E. Who knew skipping would be so tricky!!
We were learning all about TOYS! We brought in toys from home to investigate all the ways toys can move. Then we made some moving toys of our own!
