Our Settling In month will soon be over. We have made lots of new friends. Everyone took their favourite teddy bear to visit the Nursery and to meet all the other teddies!!!

European Day of Languages

Mrs Lavery and Gosia taught the children about two languages. Mrs Lavery taught us a rhyme about a little duckling in German and Gosia taught us the names and sounds made by different animals in Polish. It was great fun. 🇩🇪🇵🇱

We have learned about our routine and completed some beautiful displays. Look!!

We use iPads in our play every day. In our topic All About Us we decided to take selfies using our iPads. It was very interesting and funny. We really had to focus to find our face and talk about our features, and then take our own photo!!

Outdoor Adventures

The Nursery visited Woodhall. We explored the woodland environment and we made a house for Harry the Hedgehog. We used twigs, leaves and grasses. Harry is visiting everyone in Nursery. We will soon be able to read all about his adventures.

📚🎼Story and Song at Kilrea Library🎼📚

Nursery thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the local Library in Kilrea. We met Anne the librarian, who read us stories and sang nursery rhymes with us. Our parents met us at the library and Anne told them all about joining the library, borrowing books, going to Rhythm and Rhyme on a Thursday, and using the online "Rub a Dub Hub" library service. It was an excellent visit.

🎼Crotchets and Quavers!🎼

Paula Elder from "Crotchets and Quavers" came to visit our Nursery on Wednesday 16th of November. She taught us lots of Autumn songs about hedgehogs, frogs, squirrels and owls. We used puppets and there were lots of action rhymes. It was excellent fun. We even got to blow into a trombone!!

👋🏻Helping Hands!👋🏻

Nursery had their first Parent Partnership Workshop on Wednesday 16th November. The workshop is part of the Getting Ready to Learn Project in Nursery schools and units to help support parents in their child's learning. This workshop was on Play in Nursery, and was well attended. The parents found this workshop a great learning experience, and they got to "play". All the paintings, creative art and models are on display in the Nursery for everyone to see. The children were delighted to discover their parents had been playing in their Nursery!!!

Yoga Tots are back....

In Nursery we have yoga on a Thursday morning. It helps us to relax, unwind and focus on our activities in the classroom. We love yoga. Take a look at how good we are at it.

Stay and Play

Thank you to Eoghan's mummy who joined us in the Nursery for "Stay and Play". Eoghan had a great time showing his mummy all the play activities that he did every day. They played together. She also met his friends.

Together We Are Stronger.

It was "Anti-Bullying Week" 14th - 18th November. In Nursery we read a lovely story about being kind to each other. Everyone agreed that we are a "kind" Nursery. We treat each other with respect. We have smiling faces and gentle voices, and we help each other.

People who help us!

Gerard our Lollipop Man came into our Nursery. He showed us his uniform and his lollipop. We asked him lots of questions about his job!

We know lots of information about people who help us- the fireman, the doctor, the dentist, the shopkeeper, the hairdresser and the builder! LOOK.

Pancake Tuesday!

20th of February 2017

Mrs.McCloskey made pancakes with us. We measured out all the ingredients and mixed them together. The pancakes were delicious. We were cooks for the day! 💛
