Year 5 met with their friends from Kilrea Primary today for a guided walk of Kilrea. The children listened attentively to the historical tales and discovered lots about the different landmarks in the town. Our quiz team enjoyed a super morning at the annual Cumann na mBunscol Doire quiz. Congratulations to Eoghan, Oisin, Ollie and Katie who represented our school brilliantly, finishing in 3rd place. Well done.🎉
Year 4 participated in the first day of the online First Holy Communion Preparation Programme delivered by Mary and Therese from the Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre and Bishop McKeown. The children thought about how they can show love at home and learned about aspects of The Mass.
Well done to our Year 6 pupil who played at half time during the women’s rugby Celtic Challenge trophy at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday.
Nursery visited Mrs Mellon as part of their topic on People Who Help Us. She told the children all about her busy job in school. Thank you Mrs Mellon.
Mrs Keenan’s class enjoyed the opportunity to join a live coding workshop hosted by the Nerve Centre this week. The children worked collaboratively while enhancing their block coding skills.

Year 4 enjoyed a great day in Kilrea Primary School where they participated in a range of activities based on the theme of dinosaurs.
Well done to our Girls’ Camogie and Boys’ hurling teams on their excellent performance today at the South Derry Cumann na mBunscol 5-a-side tournament in Meadowbank.
Both teams have qualified to the Co. Derry finals in a few weeks time. This marks the first time in St. Columba’s history for all 4 codes to have qualified to the ‘All County Finals’.
Kenny and Simon and from the Rural Chaplaincy visited St. Columba’s this morning to discuss farm safety.
