We celebrated our Beginning of Year Mass this morning in St. Anne’s Oratory. Thank you to Fr McDermott for the beautiful Mass, Miss McKiernan our Religion Co-ordinator and to Miss Coyle and our school choir who added so much to the occasion with their wonderful musical liturgy.

Today we celebrated European Day of Languages in St. Columba’s. The children enjoyed a flavour of a variety of languages through engaging in a range of activities.
We were delighted to welcome Eoin Higgins from Derry GAA to our school today to begin the Participation Officer Programme aimed at enhaning our pupils’ gaelic skills.
The drive through area immediately outside the Nursery Unit MUST ONLY be used as drop off/collection zone. Cars MUST NOT park here. If you intend to exit from your car, then you must park in an alternative safe and suitable area.
We are aware that the huge volume of traffic outside the school in the morning and afternoon, particularly on Friday afternoons, poses significant danger to our pupils in the absence of a school crossing patrol or traffic calming measures.
We are working with the Education Authority and PSNI in an attempt to resolve this issue and would ask for your cooperation and patience while we await a resolution.
This morning, our KS2 pupils joined the online celebration of Mass with schools across the Diocese of Derry to mark the beginning of a new school year. A relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis was placed infront of the altar of St. Eugene’s Cathedral during Mass which added greatly to this special occasion. 🙏🏻
Today we celebrated Roald Dahl Day in St. Columba’s by exploring a range of fun activities based on his famous titles and characters. 📚📝🍭🍫
Our budding explorers in Year 4 had the opportunity to visit our school wildflower garden and observe the visiting wildlife on the nearby pond. We are so fortunate to have this amazing resource within our school grounds. 🦆🌻🌺🔎
