World Maths Day was a great success. The Nursery parents were very impressed. We linked the topic of Growth in Spring to number, colour, shape and measure. Thank you to all the parents who took part in our "Stay and Play" morning.
World Book Day
The pupils in our Nursery wore their pyjamas and brought their favourite story book with them. They had breakfast with everyone in the school assembly hall and read their story. They made zigzag books and you can find them displayed in our Nursery foyer.
In our Nursery we have been learning about Growth. We have made a number of beautiful displays, including "Mrs Honey's Hat."
Our parents continue to enjoy visiting the Nursery at the end of each month to see the children's beautiful displays.
Potato and Leek Soup
Mrs McCloskey and Nursery made tasty soup today. We are learning about healthy and unhealthy food in our topic this term. It is great fun. We cooked the soup using lots of healthy ingredients! Ask your child about the delicious soup we had for snack today!
Our healthy food included making homous with Mrs Lavery. Everyone enjoyed squashing the chick peas. We all tasted the homous on crackers.
Thursday was a beautiful sunny day. We took our yoga music outside and had a relaxing yoga class in the sun.
Our Teddy Bears Picnic
On Friday 22nd April we had a Teddy Bears Picnic. The children made their own sandwiches and rice crispie buns as a treat!! It was a beautiful day. Everyone had their favourite teddy bear at the picnic. Mrs Kielt got an invitation and she was very pleased to come and have a cup of tea and a bun.
We know our colours in Nursery. We have been using iPads in our play to reinforce our knowledge of colour. We also completed lots of practical colour activities. We read Elmer the Elephant. He is a very "colourful" character!!!
May Minibeast Capers
On the 2nd of June Nursery transformed the assembly hall into a garden wilderness!!!🐝 All the minibeasts came alive and told a beautiful story to all the children in the school.🐛 There were butterflies, ladybirds, wiggly worms, spiders, caterpillars and bumble bees!!!🐞 Lots of parents and grandparents came. 🐌There were even a few aunties !! 🕷Mrs Kielt was delighted to hear so many lovely poems and songs.🐜 Everyone looked magical.🌟
Nursery made musical shakers for the music tree in our garden.🌳 We recycled lots of junk from our recycling junk box.♻️We used dry pasta and sparkly glitter. ✨We hung the instruments on the tree.🍃 We listened to the sounds they made as the wind blew through the leaves and branches. 🌬
