Year 2

🌟 Welcome to our Year 2 Class Page 🌟

Our teacher is Mrs McAlary and our classroom assistants are Mrs Craven and Mrs Dodds. This page will keep you updated on all the class news and some of the activities we do throughout our time in Year 2.

Year 2 were experimenting with 3-D shapes in their Maths lesson this week. They were investigating which shapes were best to use when building a tower. The pupils were comparing their towers to see who could build the tallest. Lost at the concentration on their faces and the fab structures they created β˜ΊοΈπŸ‘

Article 15 Of the UNCRC states, ‘Every child has the right to meet with other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.’

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ European Languages Day 2021 🌍πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

 

We celebrated European Languages Day on Friday 24th September. Mrs Kielt visited our class to teach us some Spanish words and phrases. We learned how to say the numbers from 1 to 10 using the Mambo Song. We had lots of fun!! Gracias Mrs Kielt 😊

🌳🌀 Learning in the Great Outdoors! 🌀🌳

 

We made the most of the mild September weather and took our Play Based Learning sessions outdoors. Have a peek at the fun activities we have been getting up to as we explore the Outdoor Garden.

Article 31 states, ‘Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.’
 

🌻🌷🌹 Wildflower Garden 🌹🌷🌻

 

We visited our Wildflower Garden to see the beautiful flowers that have grown this Summer. The field has come alive with a rainbow of colour; red, orange, yellow, pink and purple. What a wonderful sight! 

Article 29 of the UNCRC states, ‘Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect
for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.’

🏫 Our First Day of School 2021 🏫

 

We are glad to be back at school for a new School Year. Mrs McAlary and the children are looking forward to learning lots of new and interesting things in Year 2.
