⭐️✨Welcome to the Year 4 class page!✨⭐️

This year, our teacher is Miss Rafferty and she is very excited to work with Year 4 in her first year at St. Columba’s. This page will keep you updated with our class news and all the wonderful activities we get up to this year.

What fun we had reading in unusual places and dressing up as our favourite characters!

🌎🔢 World Maths Day! 🔢🌎 

To celebrate World Maths Day, we took part in lots of games and challenges from home. The Naughty Gnome challenge was tricky but we are so glad we caught Captain Steve!🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️🍄

🌎 Fairtrade Fortnight 2021🌎

The Fairtrade Foundation does amazing work all over the world making sure farmers and workers get paid a fair price for the goods they produce. 

Year 4 found lots of Fairtrade products in our homes and we also created our own logos.

✨🌈 We love Well-being Wednesday in Year 4! ✨🌈

It is so important to take some time to relax and this week, we focused on breathing techniques. 

💻On Tuesday 9th February, we celebrated Safer Internet Day.💻

Year 4 learned about the importance of making sure we stay safe online by following SMART rules.

✏️✨ We created some wonderful posters to help us remember our ABCDE of Rights!✏️✨

Each year on the 1st February, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Brigid. 

St. Brigid is a very special to Christians in Ireland as she is one of our Patron Saints. Year 4 got creative at home and made some of their own St Brigid’s crosses. 🌾

🏃🏼‍♀️ We love keeping fit and doing our daily mile in Year 4. 🏃‍♂️

Year 4 have been enjoying spending time exploring the Outdoor Area.

Article 31: Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities. 

Year 4 had a wonderful time celebrating National Poetry Day!

🔢 We challenged ourselves during Maths Week! 🔢

We solved problems and explained our reasoning. We had great fun completing the challenges!

📱CODE WEEK 2020📱

During Code Week, we challenged ourselves to improve our coding skills using the Scratch Junior app. We have lots of future coding stars in our class! 🌟

❤️ Drawing God Day ❤️

We listened to the beautiful story ‘Drawing God’ by Karen Kiefer and we were inspired to draw our own pictures of God. 🎨

✨🌈 Anti-Bullying Week 2020 🌈✨

Year 4 had a great time during Anti-Bullying Week learning about the importance of showing kindness to everyone and respecting others. 

We began the week with Odd Socks Day and everyone had great fun wearing our mismatched socks to celebrate our differences! 

At the end of the week, we enjoyed World Children’s Day with lots of fun activities.🌎👭👬

Year 4 created posters about the importance of staying safe when walking or cycling as the days get darker. Have a look at our 3 winners with their new bike lights.🚲

Christmas Jumper Day! 🎄

This year, we wore our Christmas jumpers to support the Education Authority’s Christmas Family Appeal.
