Happy Father's Day from Primary 1

Primary 1's Sports Day 

The boys and girls had a great day during their sports day. They enjoyed taking part in each of the races and cheered on each of the other classes. They finished off by having a lovely ice cream.

P.1 School Trip to People's park, Ballymena 

Primary 1 had such a good day on their school trip to People's Park. They were so excited to get on a bus and enjoyed the opportunity to play in the park. They finished off their day with a nice ice lolly. :)

P.E in Primary 1

 

Primary 1 have been practising their throwing skills in preparation for Sports Day.

Happy Mother's Day from everyone in Primary 1. 

Phonics in Primary 1

The boys and girls have been working on their initial sounds and blending these together to make CVC words. We then got to use these skills to match the pictures to the correct words.

Play Based Learning 

The boys and girls enjoy learning all about their Space topic through the use of Play. This allows them to explore their learning in a variety of ways. 

 

Article 31: Each child has the right to play. 

Numeracy 

The boys and girls in Primary 1 got the opportunity to consolidate their Numeray concepts by taking part in practical activities. Here they are working on number recognition, recognising different sets of objects, adding within 10 and also counting in 2s. 

Article 29: Children’s education should help them fully develop their personalities, talents and abilities.

Catholic Schools Week 2022

Primary 1 were very busy celebrating Catholic Schools Week and they made sure to include activities for Grandparents Day. They made their own little flowers with a special message for each of their grandparents.

🏃🏻‍♂️Daily Mile 10 Year Anniversary🏃🏼‍♀️
 

We joined in celebrating 10 years of ‘The Daily Mile’. We ran our mile in our school playground before completing some fun circuit exercises. 
 

Article 24: Every child has the right to education on health and well-being.

Literacy 

 

Primary 1 have been practising their writing skills and each wrote a sentence about what their magic elf got up to.

Arts & Crafts in Primary 1

 

Primary 1 got in the festive spirit by making our own Christmas cards with a twist.

Mindfulness in Primary 1

 

Primary 1 enjoy taking part in our 'Take 5' programme by participating in some weekly yoga lessons which help them to relax and be active.

Outdoor Learning 🌳✏️😊

Last week we took to the outdoors for our Numeracy and Literacy lessons.

The children had a great time!

European Language Day 🇪🇸💃🏼

P1 loved having Mrs Kielt in teaching them Spanish for European Language Day. They were even taught a few Spanish moves too 💃🏼👏🏼
