We are all so excited to begin Year One in St. Columba’s! 

Our teacher is Miss Coyle and our classroom assistant is Mrs Craven. 

We will keep you updated on all the fantastic things we get up to this year!

 We have been up to a lot during our first days in Year One. Everyone is so happy in school and we are making lots of new friends! 🎉

Year 1 celebrated 'National Poetry Day' by completing different poetry based activities.

Year One really enjoy lots of exercise each day in school. Look how active we are!

Year 1 used the iPads to develop their coding skills during 'Code Week'.

Policeman Paul came to remind us all about keeping safe at home, in school and out on the roads.

Article 36 states 'You should be protected from any activities that could harm your development and wellbeing.'

The Gingerbread Man paid St. Columba’s a visit. Take a look at what he got up to! 

Year One celebrated World Religion Day this year while learning from home. We thought about where our quiet, special place is to pray. Article 14 states ‘every child has the right to practise their religion.’ 🙏🏼

❣️Well- Being Wednesday! ❣️
Every Wednesday, Year One take some time to work on mindfulness. We have completed some fun listening activities, Yoga and breathing exercises. 

💕 Happy Mother’s Day! 💕 

Year One love their mummies so much! They are very special people. They take care of us, bring us nice places, cook, clean and give us lots of hugs. Article 9 states ‘Every child has the right to have contact with their parents.’
