Christmas Jumper Day

Year 3 donned their Christmas jumpers to mark Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 11th December. This year, we collected donations in support of the Christmas Family Appeal organised by the Education Authority. This money will be used by St. Vincent de Paul and The Salvation Army to help many families this Christmas.

We have been exploring the area of data handling in numeracy. The children had great fun recording data, saving and presenting their work using the iPads. #makingmathsfun #managingdata

Year 3 have been learning about Article 16: 'You have the right to privacy'. We made signs to use in quiet areas at home to make others aware of our wish to enjoy a quiet moment.
🌈Anti -Bullying Week 2020🌈

Year 3 were very busy during Anti-Bullying Week. We kicked the week off with Odd Socks Day when we each wore odd socks to remind us of what makes us unique. We also participated in a range of fun activities and discussion around this year's theme; United Against Bullying. To end the week, we celebrated World Children's Day with a range of fun activities and games.

🍂Enjoying the Autumn Leaves🍂
The boys and girls in Year 3 took full advantage of all the wonderful colour in the natural environment within our outdoor learning area this autumn. We collected some leaves and other items to use in our autumn artwork.

Drawing God Day
We celebrated 'Drawing God Day' by creating beautiful drawings to represent how we see God in our lives.

📱 EU Code Week 📱
During EU Code Week, the boys and girls in Year 3 had the opportunity to enhance their coding skills using the app 'PJ Masks; Hero Academy'.

Year 3 joined many other boys and girls within the Diocese of Derry in celebrating the Beginning of School Year Mass via webcam offered by Bishop Donal McKeown from St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry.

🐛🔎 Outdoor Play 🔎🐛
Year 3 enjoyed the first of many outdoor learning experiences this year in our wonderful outdoor play area. This is a rich learning environment which ignites many interesting discussions. They certainly had great fun!

As we begin a new school year, we have written our class prayer together.
