Old Buddy Old Pal!

We have loved having our buddies down to play with us, they have helped us to feel happy and safe in our new school.

Every child has the right to meet with other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights. ARTICLE 15 UNCRC

We have been working hard trying to improve our fine motor skills, check out some of the activities we have been enjoying!

Mile a Day!

Rhyme Time!

We have been learning lots of different nursery rhymes, check out some of our super work!

 European Day of Languages

We celebrated European Day of Languages by counting to 10 in German.

Every child has the right to learn and use the language of their family, regardless of whether these are shared by the majority of the people in the country where they live. ARTICLE 30 UNCRC

🍊🍏🍓Genevieve the Goat🍓🍏🍊

We had a visit from Cancer Focus. We learned about how to keep our bodies fit and healthy. We got to meet Genevieve the Goat who told us how she keeps healthy by eating her five portions of fruit and vegetables a day as well as drinking lots of water and milk! 

Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must work to provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food and a clean environment so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this. ARTICLE 24 UNCRC

Halloween Fun!

Check out our amazing costumes for Halloween, we had to complete our daily mile dressed up.....it was lots of fun!

Food Glorious Food

We loved learning all about different types of food, we made fruit smoothies, hot chocolate and gingerbread people!

Odd Socks Day for Anti- Bullying Week!

Governments must do all they can to ensure that children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them. ARTICLE 19 UNCRC

Christmas Cinema Trip

Nursery, Foundation stage and Key Stage 1 travelled to Maghera Cinema to watch Nativity Rocks! We loved lying back on the seats and enjoyed watching the film!

Christmas is Coming!

We have enjoyed our Christmas themed play based learning!

Welly Wednesday 

We had so much fun during our first Welly Wednesday. We explored our outdoor area and had a hot chocolate break to warm us up! The bug hotel didn't seem to have too many guests but we will keep an eye out for any new bugs checking in. 🐌🐛🕷🐜🌿🍃🕸

Santa Brunch!

📮The Post Office📮

We have been learning about The Post Office! After writing our letters to our mums and dads we made the journey up Coleraine Street to buy our stamps and post our letters. On route we met the post man and spotted his van along the way. He told us all about his job at Royal Mail.

Sustrans

Johnny from Sustrans delivered a lesson about bike safety to Year 1.

Stay and Play for Grandparent's Day!

We invited our grandparents into our classroom for a play session and a cup of tea, it was so much fun!

Fairtrade Fortnight

We have been learning about the rights of farmers in other countries. Check out the fun we had learning about Pablo the fairtrade banana.

The Farm

We have been learning all about the farm, check out some of our activities!

A Visit from the Farmers!

Farmer Pat and Farmer Sinead came to our class, they told us all about their farm and the animals they keep.

Green Day!

We dressed in our many shades of green to celebrate St. Patrick. To mark the day we enjoyed some Irish dancing during our PE lesson....Riverdance watch out!

Outdoor Loving!

We are enjoying our new and improved outdoor area. Thank you to our parent volunteers who gave up their time on Saturday 11th May! Check out the fun Primary 1 had in the new areas.
