We enjoyed an afternoon of Art as Year 7 designed and created their own Cherry Blossom trees. We used a range of natural and artistic materials and really let our creative juices flow!!

The Big Pedal 2021
Year 7 really enjoyed taking part in #The Big Pedal 2021 from 19th - 30th April. This was excellent practise for their up coming Cycling Proficiency Assessment which will take place this term.

Year 7 investigated the making of footballs in Sialkot, Pakistan and how fairtrade has improved their lives.

The children from Year 7 wrote poems as a means of 'Expressing Themselves' during Children's Mental Health Week.
Catholic Schools Week

During Catholic Schools Week, the children from Year 7 participated in a range of activities as they learned about Communities of faith, learning, love, resilience and hope.
Year 7 celebrated End of Term mass with Bishop McKeown via webcam from St. Eugene's Cathedral, Derry.

Cracking Christmas Activities
All week we have been doing interesting and exciting activities. From science experiments, to maths mystery challenges, Minecraft Christmas trees to budgeting for a Christmas dinner.

We have been getting very creative making some beautiful Christmas pictures that depict the true meaning of Christmas. They tell the story of the special night that Our Lord Jesus was born .

Celebrating St. Columba
Today we celebrated mass with Bishop McKeown to celebrate St. Columba, the patron saint of Derry on what would have been his 1500th birthday. #columba1500

Feeling Festive
We put up our Christmas Tree and decorated it with Hands of Kindness. Each child wrote 5 nice things about each class mate to help spread some kindness at this very special time of year.

ANTI - BULLYING WEEK 16th Nov - 20th Nov
We celebrated the start of Anti-Bullying Week with ODD SOCKS DAY on Monday 16th November. This day highlighted that we are all different but the same. We are individually unique but we all have the same rights and must be treated equally.
Article 13 (freedom of expression) - Every child must be free to express their thoughts and opinions and to access all kinds of information.
We spent the week discussing the different types of bullying, what to do if you are being bullied and we worked together in groups to create dramas which depicting what bullying looks like & how it can affect us.

World Kindness Day 2020 - Friday 13th November.
If you can be anything in this world, BE KIND.
We painted some stones and each wrote a heartfelt, kind message for one of our class mates.

Drawing God Day - 9th November 2020.
Year 7 were very creative in interpreting what God means to them .
During October we celebrated Coding Week and Maths Week
We used Scratch Junior to create some great animations and we solved some very tricky sporty problems during Maths Week .
