We worked so hard in preparing to receive this special Sacrament and we are delighted to have been able to share such an important day together.

πŸƒπŸΌ‍β™‚οΈπŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸŽ‰ 10 Years of the Daily Mile πŸŽ‰πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌ‍♂️

We celebrated 10 years of the Daily Mile on 28th April. We joined in with hundreds of children around the world to celebrate the amazing benefits daily activity has on our mental and physical health.

We celebrated St Brigid, one of our patron saints, by learning about her life and creating beautiful St Brigid’s crosses.

πŸŒΈπŸ’πŸŒˆ Grandparents’ Day πŸŒˆπŸ’πŸŒΈ

Our grandparents are extremely special to us and we are grateful for everything they do. 

We created beautiful photo frames and wrote poems to mark this special day.

We celebrated Catholic Schools’ Week each day throughout the week by exploring how we can live our lives to the full in different ways.

We loved investigating our new topic through ABL. We designed and constructed igloos with sugar cubes and rescued polar animals trapped in the ice! Brrrrrrr❄️πŸ₯Ά

πŸŒŸπŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŽ„ ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸŒŸ

Year 4 performed a fabulous version of the Christmas classic, ‘The Night Before Christmas.’ We loved performing in front of the other year groups and we hope everyone at home enjoyed our video recording!

πŸ“πŸ”Ž As part of our Length and Perimeter topic, we estimated and measured the perimeter of our playground using trundle wheels. We couldn’t wait to find out which group had the closest estimate.πŸ“πŸ”Ž

πŸŒˆπŸ¦‹πŸ§¦ Anti-Bullying Week πŸ§¦πŸ¦‹πŸŒˆ 

We marked Anti-Bullying Week by pulling on our odd socks to celebrate our differences. We also enjoyed discussing this year’s theme #OneKindWord and created our own ‘Chain of Kindness’.

Year 4 took to the pavements in their brightest clothing to mark the importance of wearing reflective gear when out and about during the Winter months.

πŸ‚πŸŒ€πŸ“š Outdoor Classroom Day πŸ“šπŸŒ€πŸ‚

 

We celebrated Outdoor Classroom Day by exploring the Autumn environment with our five senses.

πŸŽƒπŸ‘» Happy Halloween from Year 4 πŸŽƒπŸ‘»

πŸ‘ΉYear 4 got in the spirit of Halloween by dressing up as our favourite types of ghosts and ghouls!πŸ‘Ή

We also used chalk and paint to create spooktacular pumpkin pictures.πŸŽƒπŸŽ¨

 

Article 31: Every child has the right to take part in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities. 

πŸ’Ό We had a fascinating time exploring artefacts from World War II as part of our World Around Us topic. We learnt all about the tough journeys evacuees had to make. πŸ’Ό

 

Article 19: Governments must do all they can to make sure children are protected from violence.

πŸ™ Fr. Cargan kindly presented the Year 4 pupils with a beautiful set of Rosary beads to celebrate October, the month of the Holy Rosary. πŸ™

We brushed up on our coding skills by completing Minecraft challenges during #HourofCode.

We loved this activity! 

πŸ—£Year 4 celebrated National Poetry Day by joining in a digital poetry session led by poet Simon Mole. We loved this session and came up with wonderful ideas for our own Dream Day poems.πŸŒˆβ˜οΈπŸ“

 

Article 17: Every child has the right to access information from a variety of sources.

🎨 We studied Vincent Van Gogh’s famous painting ‘The Olive Trees’ and had a go at trying his mark making technique to create beautiful landscape pictures of our environment. 🎨

πŸ₯‡ Attendance Award for September πŸ₯‡

Year 4A had the best attendance in the whole school during the month of September. Here we are with our special trophy. Hopefully we keep up this wonderful attitude all year! 

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ίβ˜˜οΈ Year 4 celebrated European Languages Day by learning a song and phrases in Irish. We had a super time and we hope to keep practising our language skills.☘️πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί
