Our Anti -Bullying Ambassadors have had a busy Term with their daily clinics. Thankfully we do not have bullying problems in St.Columba’s PS but we are being proactive and know that problems can arise. Children sometimes fall out with their friends or fall out over sports issues and can get upset. The Ambassadors were on duty every break time on the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. They listened to problems and helped in anyway they could to sort out any disagreements. Quite often the Ambassadors could sort out the problems but if there were any serious concerns they reported these issues to Mrs Henry or Miss McKiernan.
Problems included feeling sad, friends running away from children, being cheeky or being too physical when playing. The Ambassadors had training on ‘rating problems’ and they recorded issues which were available for teachers to check on a daily basis.

Anti-Bullying Week in St.Columba’s
We carried out a number of activities throughout the week to mark Anti-Bullying Week. This year’s theme was 'Choose Respect'. Pupils enjoyed fun tasks incorporating all areas of the curriculum whilst delivering a very clear message! St. Columba’s Says No to Bullying! The week ended with Odd Socks Day.
